New CCTE Forum: “The State of the Profession: 2008″
Beginning with the 2008 Convention in San Antonio, CCTE will replace the TADE breakfast with a breakfast panel discussion, open to all members, on the current state of the English profession. The forum will consist of three 15-minute papers (7-10 pp.), followed by questions. This year, topics for papers can cover any aspect of the English profession, such as hiring, salaries, under prepared or under motivated students, or state regulations. CCTE members are invited to submit 1-page proposals by Oct. 1, 2007.
When the three final proposals are chosen, finalists will then submit a final draft by Nov. 15, 2007. Proposals should be sent to: Paul A. Lister (432-837-8156) , or at Dept. of Languages and Literature, Sul Ross State University, Alpine TX 79832.
